Home for the 4th

We went home to Idaho Falls for the 4th- always a fun and exhausting celebration. We hit the parade early, had lunch in the park, pizza on the greenbelt and enjoyed a super display of fireworks, complete with falling ash and cinders. Dad stakes out our place 2 days in advance so we can sit right across the river from where the fireworks are set off, and we feel cheated if we don't come home with holes burned into clothing, blankets or strollers from the falling embers... it's all part of the fun!!! Patriotic Henry from his head to his toes, courtesy of mom!!!

Hats, sunscreen and spray bottles help keep these guys cool during the parade. Apparently, this year throwing candy was supposed to be outlawed... yeah right, my kids ended up with hatfulls of tootsie rolls and gum!!!

A quick trip to the new park after lunch. Clara and Henry could swing all day and night if we let them!!!

Pizza on the greenbelt while waiting for the fireworks. It's always fun to see how many people we recognize each year. This year I saw an old friend I cheered with when I was in high school- yipes!!! That was 12ish years ago!!! She actually looked exactly the same!!! Wish I did!

Ready for the fireworks with our super awesome safety goggles, courtesy of Grandpa Butch!!! Now we can enjoy without ash in our eyes!!!

We'll be back next year!!!!
